Hello, all. Friday, December 22nd, 2006
Just thought the old neglected web site needed some attention. Not much, though.
If you aren’t on my e-mail list and read this (unlikely), leave your address in a comment and I’ll add you as soon as possible.

I’m leaving fairly soon for Iraq. So far, even I don’t know exactly when or where we’re going, or even how exactly we’ll get there. All I know for sure about where I’m going is that there is a gym. I just bought a new pair of shoes, so they’d better have a treadmill. I don’t know how often I’ll be able to e-mail, so check here periodically (e-mail is blocked on most computers, but I can still post here). I’m glad I’m going, and I’m prepared and trained, so no worrying about me. Type at you later.
There you have it. Do with it what you will. If you’re lucky, maybe I’ll take you on a ride in my Chevy Impala.
My elbow’s still hurting, and I rolled my ankle yesterday. It was finally sunny yesterday so I got sunburned. Other than that, things are going well. The training is a little basic as we’re waiting for our main courses to start, but the PT is good. I have my own little corner in the barracks with 2 wall lockers, so I’m set. Rank has priviledge.
I’m out in Oceanside for the afternoon. It’s not as nice as San Clemente, but it’s nice enough.
If you didn’t get the e-mail I sent out a few minutes ago and want to be on the list, send me a message here. I probably won’t send out anything that’s different from what’s posted here, and I probably won’t post or e-mail very often, and when I do it’ll probably be short and vague.
I’ll get my address out to everybody soon, as some interest has been expressed about it. Don’t expect me to write much back or often. Don’t be offended, but once I’m training or actually over there, keeping in touch with civilians will be a very low priority. It was the same way on Unitas, and that wasn’t even combat, or serious (most of the time).
I’ll be leaving again on Wednesday, and I’ll be pretty busy until then packing and moving stuff out of the apartment.
Over and out.
